Andrew has over 40 years working with people, teams and organisations in health and social care, specialising in the development and management of complex community, residential, and digital services. 

He is a specialist in Drug and Alcohol services.

He has a proven track record in building partnerships with government, boards, commissioners, and service users, while leading teams to deliver impactful results. 

Key achievements include growing We Are With You (formerly Addaction) in Scotland from a £250,000 turnover to over £6 million and leading the development of the UK’s first 24-hour drug crisis centre. He has contributed to national strategies such as “The Road to Recovery” and “Rights, Respect, and Recovery,” and serves as an advisor to the Scottish Government on drug and alcohol services.

He is the Chair on the Early Intervention working Group for the Scottish Government and is the Treasurer of Release.

Kenny has had a long career at all levels of Social work in Scotland. He is an experienced Chief Social Work Officer and was one of the first  Alcohol and Drug Partnerships chairs to be appointed. 

Throughout his career he has built strong partnerships across the statutory and voluntary sector and was a key player in upholding social work values within the integration of health and social care. 

He pioneered the development of Recovery Communities and continues to do so across the country. Kenny has served as an advisor to COSLA and the Scottish Government and has served a number of charitable organisations as an advisor,  board member and chairperson.
