Management Consultancy

Forth Valley Advocacy We were approached by Forth Valley Advocacy, a small independent advocacy organisation to help out with a number of pressing leadership, contract and finance challenges. Andrew took the role as interim Chief Executive and Kenny as consultant. We managed to recruit a new leadership team, create a surplus budget and opened up re-negotiations with a number of contractors. We also significantly improved communications with our contractors.

East Ayrshire Churches for Homelessness We were appointed to undertake a feasibility exercise to ascertain the possibility of the organisation opening a residential rehabilitation centre for East Ayrshire. We met with a number of key organisation and people with lived and living history. Our recommendation was to build on the excellent established recovery movement across the local authority.

Training

Renfrewshire. We were recruited to train all Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Service staff in Pathways to Residential Rehabilitation. We created a 2 day course regarding the pathway and the different philosophies/approaches of residential rehabilitation across Scotland.

We were also employed to deliver training to all staff on the Impact of Parental Substance Use and created accompanying guidelines.

Calderglen. We were contracted to provide training to management and staff regarding keeping people safe in Residential Services and a new understanding of the landscape in which they operate.

North Lanarkshire ADP. We were employed to create and deliver a course on pathways to residential rehabilitation for a range of staff across North Lanarkshire

Leadership/Management Training We have devised our own 2 day course and delivered to a number of organisations.

Research & Feasibility

Scottish Government - Knowledge and understanding of Residential Rehabilitation. Andrew was appointed as an associate to Figure 8 to undertake research into the understanding of rehabilitation by people with a lived and living history across Scotland.

Evaluation of Prison to Rehabilitation Protocol

Feasibility Study – Dundee Alcohol and Drug Partnership. We completed a feasibility exercise into the appropriateness of a Heroin Assisted Treatment service for Dundee. We interviewed all the key players, staff and people with lived/living history. Our conclusion was that the city had a number of pressing issues that would take priority over such a treatment service.
